On the second anniversary of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, the European Network for Solidarity with Ukraine (ENSU) is helping build a solidarity delegation to Ukraine of trade unions and trade union activists from other European countries.
The delegation provides an invaluable opportunity to learn first-hand about the crucial role of Ukraine’s trade union organisations in the Ukrainian people’s resistance to Russian aggression, and to build solidarity with them.
Please find attached, in English, French and Spanish, leaflets advertising the trade union solidarity delegation to Ukraine around February 24, and informing those interested how to get involved. The leaflets are also available here:

Appeal for Global Solidarity Actions on the Anniversary of Russia’s Full-Scale Invasion of Ukraine
Dear Sisters and Brothers,
Members of the Confederation of Free Trade Unions of Ukraine (KVPU) express gratitude for your solidarity and support during the horrific time of war in Ukraine. Approaching the somber anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of our beloved Ukraine, we reiterate that KVPU members continue to resist and fight for freedom and peace in our country.
The ongoing genocidal war initiated by Russia in 2014 has caused unimaginable suffering to the Ukrainian people and has negatively impacted the economic, environmental, food, and social situations in Ukraine and various countries worldwide. The Russian forces persist in a genocidal campaign, deliberately targeting civilians, homes, and workplaces while causing irreparable damage to our ecological system. Ukraine pays an incredible price for its freedom and peace in the region – the lives of her people.
Since the full-scale war, more than 1,300 workers have been affected in their workplaces, with over 400 of them were killed as a result of the Russian aggression.
In this challenging hour, we appeal to our brothers and sisters from global union organizations and trade union centers and around the world with a sincere call to organize and participate in solidarity actions on this mournful anniversary. Your support is not just a symbol of international sisterhood but a beacon of hope and resilience for every Ukrainian enduring the horrors of this war.
We would be grateful if you support the KVPU appeal of 3 January 2024 with a call to:
– To continue providing economic, humanitarian and military aid to Ukraine.
– To strengthen sanctions against the terrorist regime of Russia, as this can significantly limit the financial resources and export of technology necessary for the continuation of the bloody war.
– To ensure the possibility of using frozen Russian assets to direct them to help Ukraine.
– To isolate and remove from work in international organizations Russian political, public, and trade union figures, as representatives of a country that carries out terrorist activities against sovereign, independent Ukraine and its citizens.
We would appreciate it if you carry out activities dedicated to the anniversary of the Russian Federation’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine (24 February, 2022):
– Rallies in support of Ukraine: Arrange events and demonstrations in your cities to draw attention to the ongoing war in Ukraine and demonstrate solidarity with her people.
– Educational forums and discussions: Organize educational events, forums, or panel discussions to inform the public about the situation in Ukraine and the importance of international solidarity.
-Fundraising initiatives: Conduct fundraising campaigns to support Ukrainian refugees, displaced families, and workers affected by the war.
-Media and social media campaigns: Utilize media platforms to highlight the difficult situation of the Ukrainian people and support their fight for peace and justice.
Additionally, KVPU invites union brothers and sisters from global unions and national trade union centers to visit Ukraine on February 22-24, 2024. Join us in meetings with KVPU members and witness firsthand how the war has affected our cities and communities. Your visit will be a powerful gesture of solidarity and significantly strengthen our ongoing fight for peace and dignity.
Let’s unite at this critical moment to support the people of Ukraine, who are fighting for freedom and defending peace in Ukraine and Europe.
Your acts of solidarity can make a tangible contribution to our struggle against Russian aggression.
In solidarity,
Mykhailo Volynets
Chairperson of the Confederation of Free Trade Unions of Ukraine
